Stéfani Filter Candle:
The Stéfani filter candle is ideal for any natural gravity water purifier, designed to be practical and easy to use. Stéfani water filters and purifiers do not require electricity and drastically reduce the use of plastic bottles, thus helping the environment. Stéfani purification systems, terracotta pots and filter candles are used worldwide for their excellence in design and water purification quality, in countries such as the USA, England, Australia, South Africa, Peru, among others. These filters are widely used by NGOs as an accessible solution to provide clean water to needy communities around the world.
Each Stéfani filter candle with colloidal silver coating for dechlorination/sterilization makes water crystal clear and eliminates impurities present in the water. Each candle efficiently reduces or removes chlorine, bacteria, lead, viruses, fungi, and other harmful microorganisms and chemical substances, making the water completely safe for consumption.
With a simple design and easy maintenance, the Stéfani dechlorinating filter candle has activated carbon, which eliminates unpleasant odors and improves the taste of the water. The Stéfani dechlorinating filter candle can last from 6 to 9 months, depending on use and local water quality.
Stéfani dechlorinating and sterilizing filter candles are silver-coated, reducing fungi, bacteria and other harmful microorganisms and chemicals present in the water. The micropores of the ceramic wall filter impurities, resulting in crystal clear water.
The activated carbon present in the filter element ensures efficiency in eliminating odors, unpleasant taste and chlorine present in the water. Water is purified at an approximate rate of one quarter of a gallon (1 liter) per hour per filter/candle. Purified water may have a slight clay taste for up to 4 to 5 weeks. This is not harmful and occurs because the terracotta is very dry and unglazed. Emptying the purifier and refilling it completely every day during this initial period will ensure that this taste disappears.
The activated carbon in the filter candle ensures the elimination of bad odors and improves the taste of the water. Inside the Stéfani purifying unit there is an advanced design filter candle. It has a microporous ceramic outer wall, internally coated with colloidal silver, and contains an internal activated carbon core (filters up to 1.5 microns). As water passes through the candle, the layers remove up to 99.9% of bacteria and amoebas and 99% of suspended solids. All Stéfani terracotta water purifiers use the Stéfani dechlorinating filter candle. Ceramic filtration has been used for over 150 years worldwide.
