Bolzan Capixaba Clay Pot Set
Your family lunch with that taste of the countryside!
Authentic Capixaba clay pots, made entirely by hand in Espírito Santo. These pots can be used on a wood-burning stove, gas stove, oven, or barbecue. Only use on a cooktop after curing.
The set contains:
1 - Large pot with lid and iron support, diameter 12 inches
1 - Medium saucepan with lid, diameter 9.5 inches
1 - Small pan, diameter 7 inches
1 - Mini pan, diameter 5.5 inches
Total pieces in the set: 7
=> How to carry out the curing process before using the pans:
1) In a large or medium pot, add ½ cup of oil and ½ cup of water and let it boil for 25 minutes. During this time, grease the pot with a paper towel or a cooking brush up to the top edge. This doesn't need to be done on the lid or outside of the pot. If it smokes, it's okay; it's part of the process. This process shouldn't be done on a cooktop.
2) To the small pan add 1/3 cup of oil and 1/3 cup of water and do the same procedure described for the larger pans.
3) The mini pan does not need to go through the curing procedure.
