Bortonaggio Gourd for Uruguayan Chimarrão Torpedo Brown Leather
Description:
Uruguayan "Coquinho" Gourd, Leather-Wrapped
About the Product:
For a good chimarrão, in addition to a good bombilla and quality erva-mate, you need to choose the ideal gourd, the one that will best fit your daily routine. If you like to drink your mate alone, we recommend a smaller gourd. Now, if you love being in a circle of friends and family, then we have larger gourds for you.
The most important thing is that we have the gourd in the ideal size you are looking for.
The gourd (porongo) has a characteristic that other gourd materials do not: it is porous and absorbs the taste of the erva-mate, adding a more special flavor to the chimarrão.
As it is a natural product, it may contain variations in color, size, and weight.
The size variation is from: 13 cm to 15 cm
This specific product is made of gourd (porongo), but it is leather-wrapped, a high-quality product, with a stainless steel rim.
How to clean your Gourd:
The gourd requires special care during cleaning to prevent it from getting mold or giving a bad taste to the chimarrão itself.
After enjoying your mate, remove all the used erva with a spoon and wash the gourd thoroughly with water.
Take it, remove excess water with a towel, and place it to dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, and without covering its opening.
Attention: Avoid wetting the leather; only clean the inside of the gourd.
How to Cure your Gourd:
Everyone has a particular way to cure their gourd, but at Bortonaggio, we have a very easy method for you to do it. As soon as you receive your gourd, add two spoonfuls of erva-mate to the inside and fill it with water up to the rim. Leave it aside for a few hours, and then just wash it and start using your new gourd.
