Lord of Bonfim Ribbon
Remembrance of the Lord of Bonfim of Bahia
Want to fulfill a wish or dream but don't know how? Believers believe that Bonfim ribbons carry the power to grant three wishes when broken. They are usually tied around wrists, ankles, or church railings in honor of the saints of each church.
Popular belief dictates that the person wearing the ribbon should tie it with three knots. For each knot, a wish is made. Important: don't spread your wishes around. It's important to keep them a secret so that your wishes come true. Oh, and don't be nervous! Wishes only come true when the ribbon breaks on its own. In other words, there's no point in cutting it or tearing it off by force, okay?
