The gourd mate cup, made of porous squash, absorbs the flavor of the yerba mate, adding a special taste to the chimarrão. As it is a natural product, it may have variations in color, size, and weight.

How to clean your Mate Cup:
The mate cup requires special care when cleaning to prevent mold or an unpleasant taste from transferring to the chimarrão itself.
After enjoying your mate, remove all used yerba with a spoon and wash the mate cup thoroughly with water.
Take it, remove excess water with a towel, and let it dry in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, and without covering its opening.
How to Cure your Mate Cup:
Everyone has a particular way of curing their mate cup, but we at Bortonaggio have a very easy method for you. As soon as you receive your mate cup, add two spoons of yerba mate to the inside and fill it with water up to the opening of the cup. Let it sit for a few hours, and then just wash it and start using your new mate cup.
