Torta de Doce de Leite com Bolacha Maria: Cremosa, Fácil e Perfeita para Dia de Chuva

Dulce de Leche Biscuit Cake: Creamy, Easy & Perfect for a Rainy Day

Some days just call for dessert. A rainy afternoon, a full house, fresh coffee brewing and that sweet aroma filling the kitchen… 🤍

In our Prova e Me Conta series from Hi Brazil Market, this comforting classic stole the show: a Brazilian dulce de leche biscuit cake made with simple ingredients and zero complications.

It’s the kind of dessert that feels like a hug — coffee-soaked Maria biscuits layered with a smooth, balanced dulce de leche cream. Sweet, but not overpowering.

Perfect for family lunches, last-minute guests, or simply to sweeten your day.

📝 Ingredients

(Base recipe – serves about 6-8)

  • 1 can (14 oz / 395g) dulce de leche
  • 1 box (7 oz / 200g) heavy cream or table cream
  • 1 package Maria biscuits
  • 1 cup brewed coffee (cooled)
  • Cocoa powder or chocolate shavings (optional, for decoration)

👩🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the cream

In a bowl, mix the dulce de leche with the cream until smooth and fully combined.

If using canned table cream, remove excess liquid before mixing.

2️⃣ Prepare the coffee

Brew coffee and let it cool.
Quickly dip each biscuit into the coffee — just enough to moisten without making it soggy.

3️⃣ Assemble

In a serving dish:

  • Add a layer of coffee-dipped biscuits.
  • Spread a layer of dulce de leche cream.
  • Repeat until finished.

End with a generous layer of cream on top.

4️⃣ Decorate

Sprinkle cocoa powder or chocolate shavings.

5️⃣ Chill

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

You’ll get beautiful layers, a perfectly balanced sweetness (thanks to the coffee), and a creamy texture that’s simply irresistible.

As we said in the final tasting:
“It’s not overly sweet, it’s very creamy. Seriously, so good.”

Now it’s your turn:
Who would you make this dessert for?

Make it, taste it… and then come back and tell us.
