Hot dogs… simple, right? Or maybe not? 🌭👀

In episode 26 of the Prova e Me Conta series by Hi Brazil Market, we explore a fun (and delicious) debate: what does the perfect Brazilian hot dog look like?

Across Brazil, every region has its own version — and some go way beyond the classic American style (which… let’s be honest… is pretty basic 😅).

And one thing makes ALL the difference: the sausage. We used Gold Meats hot dog sausage, made with 100% pork, no fillers, and a mild Brazilian-style seasoning 🤤

🌭 Base Ingredients:

🇺🇸 American Style:

Bread + sausage + lots of ketchup. Simple and classic.

🌶️ North/Northeast:

Start with sausage, add tomato sauce, corn, potato sticks, mayo and ketchup (optional), and finish with hot sauce. The spice is key!

🧀 Midwest:

Spread mayo on the bread, add sausage, tomato sauce, corn, potato sticks, and finish with grated cheese. Creamy and rich!

🥔 Southeast (the controversial one!):

Start with mashed potatoes, then sausage, vinaigrette, corn, grated cheese, and potato sticks. Finish with mayo or ketchup. Fully loaded!

💛 South:

Lots of mayo, then sausage, tomato sauce, corn, potato sticks, grated cheese, and ketchup. Simple but flavorful!

The sausage you choose changes everything. A high-quality, well-seasoned option makes all the difference.
