About the Product:

For a good chimarrão, in addition to a good bombilla and quality yerba mate, you need to choose the ideal gourd, the one that will best fit into your daily routine. If you enjoy drinking your mate alone or with family, we have the perfect size gourd for you.

The gourd has a characteristic that other gourd materials do not: it is porous and absorbs the taste of yerba mate, adding a more special flavor to the chimarrão.

As it is a natural product, it may contain variations in color, size, and weight.

The size variation is from: 13 to 15 cm.

This specific product is made of gourd, with an epoxy base. The rim is burnt to prevent impurities from penetrating the gourd.

How to clean your Gourd:

The gourd requires special care during cleaning to prevent it from molding or imparting a bad taste to the chimarrão itself.

After enjoying your mate, remove all the used yerba with a spoon and wash the gourd thoroughly with plenty of water.

Take it, remove excess water with a towel, and place it to dry in a well-ventilated area, out of direct sunlight, and without covering its rim.

How to Cure your Gourd:

Everyone has their own particular way of curing their gourd, but we at Bortonaggio have a very easy way for you to do it. As soon as you receive your gourd, add two spoonfuls of yerba mate to the inside and fill it with water up to the rim of the gourd. Leave it aside for a few hours, and then just wash it and start using your new gourd.
